A cryptocurrency whale with a penchant for Solana-based meme coins has emerged as the largest holder of a dog-themed altcoin. According to blockchain tracking firm Lookonchain, this deep-pocketed entity has amassed a staggering $4.29 million worth of PUPS, a cartoonish animal-themed meme token. While PUPS was initially created for Bitcoin Ordinals, it is also available on the Solana blockchain. Lookonchain reveals that with the whale’s recent purchase of over half a million dollars’ worth of PUPS, it has now become the biggest holder of this altcoin on Solana. The firm notes that this same whale also possesses the President Joe Biden-themed Jeo Boden (BODEN) and the dog-themed dogwifhat (WIF). Earlier this month, Lookonchain observed Solana whales taking advantage of significant discounts in the market following a correction. One such whale acquired sloth-themed Slerf (SLERF) and Pepe the Frog-themed Book of Meme (BOME) from crypto exchange Binance, while another investor loaded up on BODEN via KuCoin. However, the firm also witnessed four other whales panic-selling their WIF holdings, amounting to a total of $12.41 million.
