Whales have shown significant activity in the decentralized oracle network Chainlink (LINK), as reported by crypto tracker Lookonchain. According to Lookonchain, 54 new wallets withdrew 2.08 million LINK, valued at $30.28 million, from Binance over the past week. The crypto tracker suggests that these addresses possibly belong to institutional entities.
LINK is currently priced at $14.43. As the 17th-ranked cryptocurrency by market capitalization, it has seen a gain of over 1.5% in the last seven days.
Lookonchain also highlighted that the German government executed a transfer of 1,500 Bitcoin (BTC) valued at $94.7 million on Monday. Out of this sum, 400 BTC worth $25.3 million was sent to the crypto exchanges Bitstamp, Coinbase, and Kraken. According to Lookonchain, the German government still retains 44,692 BTC, valued at $2.82 billion.
The sale of these BTC stems from their seizure during an investigation into Movie2k.to, an illegal streaming site defunct since distributing over 880,000 pirated films from 2008 to May 2013. The Dresden Public Prosecutor’s Office revealed that the site’s operators used Bitcoin proceeds from illicit activities.
In connection with this investigation, authorities confiscated nearly 50,000 BTC, marking Germany’s largest seizure of its kind to date.
Bitcoin is currently trading at $62,072. As the top-ranked cryptocurrency by market cap, it has experienced a decrease of over 1% in the last 24 hours.
