Former Goldman Sachs executive Raoul Pal believes that Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are on track to reach four billion users, according to a chart that has been accurate over the past five years. Pal predicts that by the end of 2025, there will be over one billion crypto users. He compares the growth rate of the internet during its early years to the growth rate of crypto since 2016, and notes that while the internet grew at a rate of 76% per year and eventually slowed down to 43%, crypto has been growing at a rate of 137% per year. Pal believes that even if crypto’s growth rate slows down to match that of the internet, it will still reach 1.1 billion users by 2025. Looking further ahead, Pal sees half of the world’s population adopting Bitcoin and crypto by 2030, which would amount to four billion users. Although this projection may not be perfect, Pal believes the numbers are still impressive.
