Santiment Layer1 Blockchain Network Surpasses Decentraland as Leading Gaming Project in Crypto Development

A new layer-1 blockchain has surpassed Decentraland (MANA), an Ethereum-based virtual reality platform, to become the leading crypto gaming project in terms of development activity, as reported by the analytics platform Santiment.

According to Santiment, MultiversX (EGLD), previously known as Elrond, recorded 236.93 significant GitHub events, outperforming Decentraland’s 150.4 events. Immutable X (IMX), a non-fungible token (NFT) layer-2 scaling solution, secured the third spot with 77.4 GitHub events, while the Ethereum sidechain Skale Network (SKL) ranked fourth with 42.6 events.

Santiment emphasizes that it excludes routine updates and utilizes a “better methodology” to gather data on GitHub events through a “backtested process.”

The analytics firm has previously stated that extensive development activity surrounding a crypto project is a positive sign, indicating that developers have confidence in the protocol’s success and reducing the likelihood of an exit scam.

MultiversX operates as a distributed proof-of-stake blockchain network with over 3,000 nodes, aiming to facilitate the creation of next-generation applications.

The project’s native token, EGLD, is currently priced at $35.98. Ranked 103rd by market cap, the cryptocurrency has experienced a decrease of over 7.5% in the last 24 hours and more than 10% in the past month.
