Binance CoFounder Urges Elon Musk to Tackle Crypto Scams on Twitter Following Incident with Followers Falling Victim to Wallet Drainer

Binance co-founder Yi He has reached out to billionaire Elon Musk, the owner of the social media platform X, urging him to take action against the increasing number of crypto scams on the platform. This plea comes after some of her followers fell victim to a scam that drained their crypto wallets.

In a recent post, Yi He warned her followers about a scammer impersonating her on X, luring people into clicking on fraudulent links that result in the theft of their crypto funds. She emphasized that she has not released any new memecoins and clicking on the provided link would lead to financial loss. Desperate for a solution, Yi He directly addressed Elon Musk, seeking his intervention in tackling this issue.

One of Yi He’s followers reportedly lost 60 Ethereum (ETH), valued at approximately $215,853 at the time, after falling for the scam. Yi He clarified that her only account is @heyibinance and that the only token she endorses is BNB. She urged her followers to stay vigilant against such fraudulent accounts and encouraged them to report any suspicious activity to X to prevent others from falling victim to scams.

Recent data from the bug bounty platform Immunefi indicated a significant decrease in crypto losses due to hacks and scams over the past year. The report revealed that from January to May, $473.229 million worth of digital assets were lost, marking a 20% decline from the $595.438 million lost during the same period in 2023.
