Dormant Bitcoin Titans Stir Transferring a Staggering 58 Million in BTC After Ten Years of Inactivity Insights from Blockchain Analysis

Two long-dormant Bitcoin holders have recently stirred the cryptocurrency community by transferring significant sums of BTC that had remained untouched for over a decade.

According to data from the whale-tracking service Whale Alert, an ancient Bitcoin wallet woke up and moved 1,004 BTC valued at $56.92 million. This wallet had been dormant for 10.6 years before suddenly becoming active again. Initially, the BTC was transferred to an undisclosed wallet and subsequently moved to another wallet of unknown origin, where it currently resides.

Bitinfocharts reveals that the investor originally acquired this BTC trove in 2013 and 2014, spending over $1.132 million when Bitcoin was trading below $800. This move has resulted in staggering gains of more than 4,920% over the past decade.

In a separate event, Whale Alert also detected another historic Bitcoin holder transferring 20 BTC worth $1.41 million after being inactive for more than 11 years. Similarly, this BTC was first moved to an unknown wallet and then transferred again to another undisclosed wallet.

According to on-chain data from Bitinfocharts, the holder initially accumulated this Bitcoin stack in July 2013, spending just $1,676 when BTC was priced around $80. This has translated into extraordinary gains of nearly 68,000% over the 11-year period.

Notably, none of these Bitcoin transfers were directed to known cryptocurrency exchange addresses, suggesting that the holders may not be intending to sell their assets on the open market.

As of the latest update, Bitcoin’s price stands at $57,700, marking a modest increase of over 2% in the past day.
